He is not only a musician but also a TV programmer and a presenter. He makes travel programmes called “Colours”. He always travel all over the world and presents culture, strange places and food. In Europe, over 215 million people smoke every day. Everybody knows they shouldn’t smoke because smoking is really bad for the health. So why do people do it? The truth is that nearly 95% of adult smokers started when they were teenagers. People don’t usually start smoking after the age of 20. But because smoking is very addictive, it’s hard to stop once you’ve started. So if you start smoking as a teenager, you’ll find it difficult to give up as an adult. And almost every adult who smokes wishes they had never started.

In spite of everything known about the risks and dangers of smoking, psychologists and parents still haven’t found a way to stop teenagers doing it. In the United States, about 3,000 teenagers try their first cigarette every day. That’s one million new teenage smokers every year. Teenagers understand that smoking is bad for them but just don’t use their common sense. At an age when they (bilgi yelpazesi. com) want to feel more independent and to have more responsibility, many believe that smoking makes them ‘cool’ and ‘adult’. Some do it just because their friends are doing it, not because they want to themselves.

“Unfortunately, when an adult sees you smoking, it’s like wearing a big ‘I’m a Stupid Teenager!’ sign around your neck,” says Marshall Brain in his book, A Teenagers Guide to the Real World. “Adults don’t decide to start smoking. The question to ask yourself as a teenager is ‘why is that?’ If you start smoking as a teenager, you’ll have a habit that is dirty, expensive, unhealthy and unwanted for the rest of your life.”

The good news is that the number of teens who smoke is falling. Today, in the US, only about 22% of teenagers smoke, down from 36% just 7 years ago.
