Geçmişte adet halinde yapmakta olduğumuz hareketleri anlatırken fiil önünde used to getirilir.
Biz bu yapıyı geçmişteki yaşantılarımızı ve alışkanlıklarımızı ifade ederken kullanırız.
I go. Giderim.
I went. Gittim.
I used to go. Giderdim. (Eskiden giderdim.)
I used to play marbles(misket), but I don’t now. (Misket oynardım fakat şimdi oynamam)
İçinde used to bulunan cümleleri soru haline sokmak için cümle başına did getirilir, used kelimesi de use haline gelir.
Did you use to go. Gider (bilgi yelpazesi.net) miydin?
